Location: Newbury

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm

Contract: 5-Month Fixed-Term Contract with potential for extension

We are currently recruiting for Gamebird Line Operatives to join a busy food production operation within the Newbury area. Previous food production experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The Role

As a Gamebird Line Operative, you will play an important part in the production process, supporting activities from bird intake and storage through to plucking, grading, packing and palletising. You will help ensure products meet strict quality standards and customer specifications while contributing to the smooth running of the production line.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving and checking incoming game birds and recording intake information.

Hanging and storing birds correctly, maintaining traceability and stock rotation.

Operating manual and mechanical plucking equipment safely and effectively.

Inspecting and grading products against quality standards.

Packing products accurately to customer specifications.

Building and labelling pallets ready for storage or despatch.

Maintaining accurate production and traceability records.

Following all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.

Supporting other production and warehouse duties as required.What We're Looking For

High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Understanding of hygiene and safe food handling practices.

Willingness to undertake manual handling duties.

Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.

Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.This role involves working within chilled production and packing areas and may include exposure to cold-store environments. Appropriate PPE and protective clothing will be provided.
