Fettler / Polisher Temp to Perm Location: Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire

Salary: GBP12.71 GBP17.00 per hour, depending on experience

Job Type: Full–time, Permanent

Our client, a well–established sheet metal manufacturing company based in Letchworth Garden City, is currently looking for an experienced Fettler / Polisher to join their busy production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in metal finishing, grinding, polishing or fabrication who is looking for a permanent position within an established engineering and manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for finishing metal components to a high standard, ensuring all products meet the required quality and specification standards.

Duties Will Include: Fettling, grinding and polishing sheet metal components

Removing sharp edges, burrs and imperfections from fabricated parts

Using hand tools, power tools and grinding equipment

Preparing and finishing metal surfaces to a high standard

Working from engineering drawings and job instructions

Checking finished components for quality and accuracy

Measuring components to ensure they meet required specifications

Assisting with fabrication, assembly and basic welding tasks when required

Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment

Following health & safety procedures at all times

Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines

The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience in fettling, polishing, grinding or metal finishing

Experience working within a sheet metal, fabrication or engineering environment

Confident using hand tools, grinders and polishing equipment

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings would be advantageous

Good attention to detail and pride in producing high–quality work

Good practical and mechanical skills

Reliable, hardworking and punctual

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Previous welding or fabrication experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Hours & Pay Full–time, Permanent

GBP12.71 GBP17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
