How will you make an impact?

Reporting to the QEHS Manager on site, you will be responsible for the following;

Oversees cross–departmental environmental and health & safety activities and contributes to site–specific policies, objectives, and improvement plans. Ensures relevant staff receive essential EHS training (e.g. manual handling, fire safety, permit to work) and leads external audits. Collects, analyses, and reports EHS data to support performance tracking and continuous improvement. Acts as liaison with local authorities such as H&S Executives and the Environment Agency Drives EHS initiatives and campaigns, promotes knowledge sharing, and serves as a key ambassador for EHS culture on site. Represents the site in UK and global EHS forums, including occasional travel.

What will you need to succeed?

Proven experience in EHS roles within sectors such as FMCG, manufacturing, chemicals, or water, with familiarity in waste plant operations and Environment Agency interactions. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver training and influence workplace behaviours effectively. Working knowledge of key EHS regulations and practices, including COSHH, LOTO, confined space, and pollution prevention. Experience in developing and maintaining EHS management systems and documentation. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH Diploma as well as the IEMA are essential
