Job Role: Coded Welder – Craft Worker 1

Location: Sizewell

Duration: Long – term (2 years +)

Pay rate: 24.14 per hour

Our client Sizewell is looking for Coded Welder – Craft Worker 1, who will be performing high quality welding and fabrication work in accordance with engineering drawings, safety standards, and operational targets. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbolsSetting up and operating welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.)Preparing materials through cutting, grinding, and fittingExecuting welds to meet engineering, safety, and quality standardsInspecting finished products for defects (visual inspection, measurements, NDT if applicable)Collaborating with fabricators, engineers, and supervisorsSkills

Proficiency in one or more welding processes: MIG / MAG and TIG, Manual Metal Arc (Stick), Flux cored, Spot welding.Ability to work with various materials: Mild steel, Stainless steel, AluminiumKnowledge of Fabrication techniques: Thermal cutting (oxy fuel, plasma), Weld distortion control, Measuring and marking outExecuting welds to meet engineering, safety, and quality standardsInspecting finished products for defects (visual inspection, measurements, NDT if applicable)Qualifications

Proven experience as a welder in various settingsCity & Guilds 3268 / 3269 (UK), NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Welding/Fabrication, AWS Certified WelderCSCS/CPCS card (for construction sites) DesirableAdditional certifications (e.g., coded welder qualifications: EN ISO 9606, ASME IX)Forklift, overhead crane, or manual handling training.Lodge available for suitable candidates.
