Description
Vintage mandolin by G. Grandini in need of restoration. Looks to be a quality instrument with (what I believe to be) a spruce top (lovely straight grain and high grains per inch count) with Brazilian rosewood inlay, ebony bridge and fretboard with mother of pearl inlays, rosewood back and sides, nickle plated brass tailpiece and original four-on-a-plate ivoroid tuners. Fret wear is minimal. Inner label reads as follows: G. Grandini, Fabricanti di Strumenti Armonici, GIROLAMO THIBOUVILLE-LAMY, Unico rappresente in Francia, in Inghiltera e agle, Stati d'America which translates as 'G. Grandini, Manufacturers of Musical Instruments, GIROLAMO THIBOUVILLE-LAMY, Sole Representative in France, England, and the United States of America'.
