Salary: 34,000 starting, rising to 38,000 after 6 months

We're looking for an experienced Transport Broker / Trader to join our high–performing operations team in Wakefield. With a growing portfolio of national accounts and a well–established subcontractor network, this is a role for someone who thrives in a fast–paced, commercially focused environment and is ready to take their career to the next level.

What You'll Do

Plan and allocate loads daily, balancing service and profitUse freight exchange platforms to secure additional workNegotiate rates confidently with hauliers and subcontractorsBuild lasting relationships with customers and carriersProactively manage delivery performance and resolve issues fastMaintain accurate records in our TMS (Mandata)Contribute to a collaborative, results–driven team culture

You're a confident communicator and natural problem–solver who thrives under pressure. You know the UK transport market, understand the importance of margin and service, and enjoy taking full ownership of your workload.

Essential Experience & Skills

Previous experience in transport brokerage or subcontract haulageStrong negotiating skills and commercial mindsetSolid knowledge of UK geography and general haulage operationsFamiliarity with transport regulations (drivers' hours, WTD, etc.)Proficient in Microsoft Office and transport softwareExperience using TMS (Mandata preferred)
