Hours: 11:00pm 9:00am (4 on / 4 off or confirm shift pattern)

Location: Norwich, NR6

Contract: 3 months FTC

Winner Recruitment is working with a major national logistics and parcel distribution business to recruit an experienced Night Shift Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast–paced environment and is confident overseeing a busy overnight operation.

You ll be responsible for managing the night shift team, ensuring operational standards, safety procedures, and service targets are consistently met. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain control of the operation during peak night hours.

The Role

As Night Shift Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the night operation, ensuring freight is processed correctly, vehicles are turned around efficiently, and compliance standards are followed at all times. You ll lead the night team to deliver consistent performance while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all night–shift warehouse and transport operationsEnsure full compliance with all Health & Safety, security, and company proceduresManage attendance, holidays, and absence records for night–shift staffLead evening de–brief, ensuring consignments are correctly processed and codedEnsure all customer collections and returns are completed and processed to standardMonitor vehicle return times to ensure freight meets trunk departure schedulesMaintain control of to be called for freight and the Hold BayEnsure Opsys (or relevant system) is used correctly and all freight is accounted forSupport the Operations Manager and Site Manager with operational tasks when requiredConduct appraisals and performance discussions with night–shift team membersChallenge unauthorised visitors and ensure security protocols are followedPromote a positive, respectful, and professional culture during night operations About You

We're looking for someone with:

Experience in a warehouse, logistics, transport, or parcel distribution environmentStrong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team on night shiftExcellent communication and organisational skillsA proactive, hands–on approach to problem–solvingGood understanding of operational systems and dataAbility to manage performance, maintain compliance, and uphold safety standardsA confident decision–maker who thrives working independently at night A degree is desirable but not essential if you have solid operational experience.
