Multimodal Import / Export Coordinator

Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multimodal Import & Export Supervisor to join a well-established logistics business based in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with strong freight forwarding experience across air, sea, and road.

Key responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day logistics schedules (goods in/out) in collaboration with commercial, procurement, and production teamsOversee multimodal import and export operations ensuring efficiency and accuracyEnsure smooth, on-time delivery of goods in compliance with ADR / IMDG / IATA regulationsSupervise customs and transport administrators, ensuring compliance at all timesMaintain accurate and compliant documentation for all shipmentsLiaise with UK and international customers, providing clear and timely communicationBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, internal teams, and third-party logistics providersMonitor and evaluate third-party logistics performanceEnsure transport and freight rates are communicated effectively across internal teamsResolve operational issues efficiently, maintaining high service levelsSupport additional operational activities to ensure smooth running of the logistics functionRequirements:

Minimum 2+ years' experience in a logistics or commercial environmentStrong knowledge of import/export processes (multimodal preferred)Experience with customs systems such as CDS, Destin8, CNS or similarUnderstanding of AEO procedures and compliance (desirable)Proven experience dealing with customers and suppliersGood geographical knowledgeProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with ERP/CRM systems (desirable)Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritiseCalm, professional approach under pressure with strong problem-solving skillsBenefits:
