Position: Multi–Modal Pricing & Quotation Specialist

Location: Southampton

Salary: Up to 36,000 DOE

Hours: 37.5 per week – Monday to Friday

An excellent opportunity has arisen with a well–established and internationally recognised freight forwarding group for an experienced Multi–Modal Pricing & Quotation Specialist to join their Southampton operation.

This position would suit somebody with a strong freight forwarding background who enjoys the commercial side of operations, pricing, and customer interaction, particularly within air and sea freight movements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the commercial and operational teams by producing competitive spot quotations, negotiating rates with carriers and suppliers, and helping secure new and existing business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Managing and producing spot quotations across air freight, sea freight, and some road freight shipmentsNegotiating buy rates with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers, and overseas partnersSupporting the sales team with competitive pricing solutions for both new and existing customersBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and carriersMonitoring market trends and rate fluctuations to ensure commercially competitive pricingLiaising closely with operations teams to ensure quotations are operationally viable and profitableSupporting tender and RFQ opportunities where requiredFollowing up quotations and helping maximise conversion opportunitiesRequirements

Previous experience within freight forwarding pricing, quotations, or internal salesStrong knowledge of air freight and sea freight operations and pricing structuresExperience handling spot quotations and supplier rate negotiations is essentialGood understanding of import and export freight movementsExposure to road freight pricing would be advantageousStrong commercial awareness and communication skillsAbility to work within a fast–paced freight forwarding environmentInternal sales or customer development experience would be highly desirablePackage
