JOB PURPOSE

To ensure PHYSICAL DELIVERY TO PLAN within a Logistics Team striving to continuously add customer value whilst constantly reducing cost.

Operation of company vehicles through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective operation, delivering true value through a commitment to a 99% OTIF defined service level at the lowest possible cost.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Conduct oneself at all times in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Logistics function and UK Power Networks in general demonstrating the Vision and Values of the companyTo deliver a range of materials to sites as directed by the DC managementEnsure that delivery locations are maintained to the highest standardsWhere requested complete Cycle Counting to required accuracy standardsAssist the DC team with any aspect of the operation from receipt of goods through to delivery to ensure OTIF is maintained.Facilitate good communication with internal customers.Ensure high standard of safety and compliance with HSS Policies in all activities including:Ensure Point of Work assessments are completed in full on a daily basis.Ensure current Road Transport Legislation, including EU regulations, is followed at all times.Wear appropriate uniform & PPE where provided.Carry out daily inspection on MHE and vehiclesReport any defects to ensure that equipment is fit for purposeSafe loading and unloading using MHEDriving company vehicles in a responsible and conscientious mannerChallenge others not following the correct or safest proceduresTake personal responsibility for your own health and safety and for othersReport all near misses and deal with hazards to create a harm free workplace.Support Continuous Improvement Programme initiatives

Participating in effective Mini–business meetings, ensuring clarity regarding work planned for the day, reviewing performance and identifying improvement opportunities.Applying visual management of QSCSP to ensure goal achievement, highlighting and addressing issues of concern.Conducting formal problem solving e.g. 3Qs, 5 Why's, Fishbone etc.Implementing innovation to ensure continuous improvement of performance.Initiating and participating in Kaizen projects

Qualifications:

Essential

HGV Class I or II Licence holderCertificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

Desirable

Sub Station Entry (including First Aid)You will be required to hold or attain a FLT Certificate for this role
