Time Appointments are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading international freight forwarding and logistics company based in Felixstowe. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to welcome an experienced Import & Export Operations Co–ordinator to their expanding Sea Freight team in Felixstowe.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well–established business with a strong reputation in the industry, offering long–term career development and the chance to work across international import and export operations. While this role has a primary focus on sea freight imports, you will work closely with wider operational teams, giving you exposure to the full freight forwarding process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sea freight import shipments from origin through to destination, ensuring exceptional levels of customer service and operational excellence throughout the shipment lifecycle.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage end–to–end sea freight import shipments (FCL & LCL) from origin to final delivery Liaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines and suppliers to ensure the smooth movement of cargo Create, manage, and monitor shipments using the company's in–house systems, ensuring all KPIs and service standards are achieved Maintain accurate shipment data, providing customers with real–time visibility and timely updates Ensure all shipping documentation, customs clearance requirements and compliance processes are completed efficiently Coordinate and plan deliveries in line with customer requirements and agreed timescales Proactively identify, resolve, and escalate any shipment or delivery issues to minimise disruption Prepare and process customer invoicing accurately and within agreed deadlines Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities to add value and support future business growth Work collaboratively with import, export, and customs teams to ensure seamless operational processes

Skills & Experience Required:

A minimum of 2 years' sea freight import experience within a freight forwarding environment is essential Strong understanding of international freight forwarding processes, with knowledge of both import and export operations being highly desirable Knowledge of customs procedures and tariff classifications would be advantageous Excellent communication and relationship–building skills with a genuine customer–focused approach Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads, multitask and work effectively under pressure Strong problem–solving skills and the confidence to manage unexpected operational challenges A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high–quality service
