Description
Heavy Plant Operator
Location: Southampton, UK
Salary: Circa 35,000pa ( 17.00p/h)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Are you a skilled Heavy Plant Operator with experience operating equipment such as loading shovels, mobile cranes or similar heavy plant? Are you seeking a stable role with a respected, expanding company that prioritises expertise, safety, and customer satisfaction?
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well–established waste management and aggregate recycling provider based in Southampton.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre–start checks and operate plant safely and efficiently in line with port operational procedures.Operate heavy plant including mobile cranes, loading shovels, and Bobcats to support vessel discharge and cargo handling activities.Load, unload, and transfer bulk materials between vessels, storage areas, and road vehicles while maintaining efficient workflows.Manage stockpiles, cargo storage areas, and yard movements to ensure safe handling and operational efficiency.Maintain high health and safety standards by reporting defects, hazards, and incidents while adhering to port safety regulations.
Requirements:
Previous experience operating heavy plant such as mobile cranes, front–end loading shovels, 360 excavators, Bobcats, or similar machinery.Previous experience within UK port operations or materials handling environments desirable.Health and safety focused with strong awareness of safe operating practices.Ability to work confidently alone or collaboratively within a team.WR Logistics are the recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
