Description

Gleeson has partnered with a leading transport and logistics business to recruit a Head of Compliance for a pivotal role based in Derby.

This high–impact position blends strategic oversight with hands–on leadership, ensuring DVSA compliance, robust safety standards, and operational excellence across the organisation. Reporting directly to the C–suite, you'll lead audits, manage risk, and drive best–practice governance while fostering a proactive, safety–first culture.

Job Title: Head of Compliance

Location: Derby

Salary : 65,000 – 75,000 + Bonus

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure DVSA compliance, manage operator licences, monitor driver performance and telematics data, and cultivate strong supplier relationships.Champion a robust safety culture, report directly to the C –suite, oversee audits and incident management, and guarantee contractors and facilities meet all legal and insurance obligations.Serve as the primary liaison with insurers, handle policy renewals and claims, and ensure prompt First Notification of Loss (FNOL) reporting.Review supplier and customer contracts, assist with dispute resolution, and promote best–practice governance across the business.Lead compliance initiatives, support ISO and FORS accreditation, and embed a proactive, safety–first mindset throughout the organisation.Key Skills:
