Goods In Operative

Location: Braintree

Salary: 14.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4:15pm, Friday 7:30am – early finish

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for a Goods In Operative to join a busy manufacturing company based in Braintree.

This is a hands–on warehouse role covering the receipt, storage and movement of materials, as well as supporting the despatch of finished goods.

Duties of Goods In Operative:

Receiving incoming deliveries and checking quantities against purchase orders and delivery paperworkChecking goods for damage or discrepanciesBooking stock onto the company's ERP systemLabelling and putting materials away in the correct warehouse locationsReporting any shortages, damaged goods or discrepanciesDelivering materials to the relevant production areasPreparing customer orders and internal transfers for despatchChecking products, quantities and packaging before despatchCompleting shipping and delivery paperworkLiaising with transport and logistics providersMaintaining accurate stock recordsCarrying out stock checks and assisting with physical stocktakesInvestigating and resolving stock discrepanciesSupporting stock rotation and material replenishmentKeeping the warehouse clean, organised and safeAttending daily team meetings and communicating with other departmentsFollowing all company health & safety and warehouse proceduresOperating a Counterbalance Forklift safely when requiredRequirements:

Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence and recent experience is essentialPrevious experience within a Goods In, Goods Out, Warehouse or Logistics environmentGood understanding of stock control and warehouse processesExperience with manual handlingGood attention to detail and organisational skillsGood communication and teamwork skillsExperience using an ERP or warehouse management system would be advantageousIf you have previous warehouse experience, hold a Counterbalance Forklift licence and are looking for a long–term opportunity with a well–established company, please apply now.
