Freight Supervisor – Heathrow – Up to 45,000
Our client is a well–established international freight forwarder are currently seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to oversee day–to–day ocean import operations, managing shipments from arrival through final delivery. The role involves supervising a small team, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations, and maintaining high standards of service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Shifts: Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to 45,000
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all ocean import operations from origin to delivery.Oversee documentation processes, including bills of lading, customs entries, and delivery orders.Ensure timely customs clearance and release of shipments.Liaise daily with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers, and customers.Allocate workloads, monitor team performance, and provide coaching and support to staff.Resolve any shipment delays, discrepancies, or service failures effectively.Monitor and control operational costs, ensuring invoicing accuracy.Maintain compliance with HMRC, CDS, and other regulatory requirements.Produce regular performance and KPI reports for management.Identify opportunities to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.Skills & Experience Required
Minimum 5 years' experience in ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment.Strong knowledge of customs procedures, Incoterms, and import documentation.Previous experience in a supervisory or senior operator role.Proficiency with Destin8, Cargowise, or similar freight systems.Excellent organisational and problem–solving skills.Strong communication and leadership abilities.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Customer–focused with a proactive approach to service delivery.WR Logistics are the recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
