Import / Export Coordinator – Freight Forwarding

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: 28,000 – 34,000 per year (depending on experience)

Job Type: Full–time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

Are you an experienced freight forwarding professional looking to join a long–established, family–run company with a reputation for exceptional customer service? Our client, a well–respected freight forwarder based in Portsmouth, is seeking an Import / Export Coordinator to join their friendly and dedicated Operations Team.

The Role

As an Import / Export Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing international shipments from quotation through to final delivery. You will handle both import and export operations across multiple modes of transport and work closely with customers, suppliers, and agents to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate import and export shipments by sea, air, and road.Manage freight forwarding processes from quotation to delivery.Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and partners.Ensure documentation and customs requirements are completed accurately.Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Essential Skills and Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience in freight forwarding (imports or exports).Proven ability to manage shipments from quotation through to delivery.Strong communication and organisational skills.Positive, proactive attitude and excellent attention to detail.Desirable Skills

Experience completing import customs entries.Familiarity with Boxtop and Descartes systems.Experience using CNS/Destin8 platforms.Benefits
