Class 1 Driver

Location: Leigh

Shift times: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00

Pay Rate: 16 per hour, ADR is paid at 17 per hour

We're currently looking for full–time Class 1 Drivers to join us at our site in Leigh, with immediate starts available on a temporary ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking reliable work with the possibility of temp–to–perm positions for the right candidates.

Our client is a third–party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

What you'll do on a typical day:

Carry out multi–drop pallet deliveries, typically completing 5 to 15 drops per day.Deliver to a range of customer sites and branches across the region.Around 60% of deliveries are FLT (Forklift Truck) offloaded, with the remainder using pump trucks, so there is an element of manual handling involved.Operate your Class 1 vehicle safely and in line with company and road safety standards.Use a handheld scanner and complete all necessary delivery paperwork.Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with VOSA and legal roadworthiness standards.What you need to succeed with our client:

A valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.ADR certification is preferred but not essential – higher rate applies if held.No more than 6 penalty points on your licence, with no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.Proven multi–drop delivery experience.Good knowledge of the UK road network.A professional, reliable, and can–do attitude.Pay, Benefits and More:
