Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry–leading client based in Newcastle. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours : 09:00am start

Pay Rate: 15.28 per hour PAYE rising to 16.36 after 12 weeks

Location: Newcastle, NE37

Job Type: Ongoing

The role:

Collections and deliveries – up to 20 stops max.

. Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations.

Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries.

.Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.

Conduct pre–trip and post–trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.

Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.

Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).

Have at least 12 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.

Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

Full understanding of WTD legislation.

Excellent communication skills.
