Free - Viking GE 150 Garden Shredder Not Working – Repair Spares Only

A Viking GE 150 garden shredder available for spares or repair.
Mains electric powered.

Does not work at all – took it to local garden machinery repair shop and the diagnosis is “the motor is stripped” and the “unit is beyond economical repair (by them) as they could not guarantee that if the motor was replaced there would not be something else wrong”. I have since bought another shredder so am seeing if this old Viking is of use to anyone for spares etc before it gets taken to the dump.

Known faults:
· Motor is seized, you can feel the spindle binding and it is difficult to turn by hand.
· Connection into power switch has broken off – I had successfully gorilla taped this up with a 35mm film cartridge case and had run it like that for several years (the repair shop took the tape off when inspecting the machine”)
· Some damage to one of the wheel covers

It is “only” the motor issue that stopped me using the shredder.

The Stihl GE 150 is the equivalent shredder now (orange/white instead of green/white, but otherwise the same, and parts are inter-changeable I believe)

The shredder is very heavy and is offered free for collection only, from central Cheltenham
