Mell’s Gardening – Local Gardener in Lewes
Hi, I’m Mell -a 28-year-old gardener recently back in my hometown of Lewes after spending the last few years working and living in Brighton. I grew up here, and I’m now looking to build a local client base rooted in trust, quality, and care.
I’ve been working outdoors professionally since I was 15—over 12 years now. I studied at Plumpton College and have spent most of my time working professionally as a gardener. I’ve also spent time on biodynamic farms, helped build natural swimming ponds, planted trees in the Australian outback for a year, and worked for both organic nurseries and a landscaping companies as well as various local companies. My approach is grounded in ecology and sustainability, but I still offer all the practical services too—hedge cutting, lawn mowing, general garden maintenance, and tidy-ups.
I don’t drive, so I’m mainly working in Lewes and the surrounding areas, though I can travel a bit through arranged lifts from family members. I’m not taking on large-scale landscaping or design projects at the moment—just keeping it simple and local.
If you’re looking for a gardener with a genuine connection to the land and a thoughtful, no-fuss approach to garden care, I’d love to hear from you.

(don’t worry, I’m better with secateurs than quotes) ;)
