Here for sale is my fantastic, special vehicle Land Rover discovery 2 td5. This is a very reluctant sale and it’s going to be difficult to let it go. This has been extremely well maintained throughout its life and the time that I have had it. No heavy mods, just well maintained and loved. The special vehicles plate under the bonnet indicates Land Rover’s Special Vehicles department (sometimes called Special Vehicle Operations or similar) handled vehicles that needed work beyond the standard production line. I’m currently trying to find out more history about this so will update the advert once I know for certain but people that have looked at it seem to think it was most likely ex military.

Since I have owned it I’ve had

* The chasis professionally cleaned and waxoyled.
* All new intercooler system
* All new high quality front & rear performance drilled & grooved discs and pads
* All new callipers and carrier bolts
* All new hurricane alloy wheels and wheel nuts with hankook tyres (with plenty of life left in them)
* Full service every year

This disco drives and handles superbly. Mechanically it is absolutely faultless. The garage I take it to for mot’s etc tell me it’s genuinely the best one they’ve ever seen. The dash/speedometer has been specially calibrated by I.R.S Nottingham. It’s got 127k miles on the clock and literally just had a full service. It sailed through its last mot with ZERO advisories. Comes with two keys and part service history, plus spare wheels if you want them. It has full leather interior and 6 seats with plenty of storage space.

There are a couple of minor cosmetic issues that are indicated in the photos (fairly commonplace for a car this age). And a very minor oil leak (again very commonplace for old Land Rovers) that it’s had since the day I brought it. And I have always been told “it’s not an oil leak, it’s marking its territory!” As I’ve already indicated, I love this disco, but I have to let it go as I need to purchase a van for work, so it’s time to pass it on. These are becoming a bit of a classic and if looked after will only continue to gain or hold its value. I am open to sensible offers/negotiations. The first to drive will buy!
