Reason for sale: purchased earlier this year as a shared project with my mum, but she couldn’t quite take to the unique charms of a Defender, and I don’t have the time to give it the full use it deserves. The Land Rover Defender 90 is an enduring icon - built to go anywhere, carry anything, and keep on working. The 200Tdi models are especially sought after for their legendary reliability, simplicity, and charm.

This 1993 example benefits from a galvanised Marsland chassis, giving it a rock-solid foundation, along with a host of sensible upgrades that make it both practical and enjoyable to drive. Finished in a resprayed Rosso Corsa, it has clear expedition appeal thanks to its Safety Devices roof rack and ladder, while remaining a very usable classic.

As with many Defenders of this age, there are a few areas to attend to in future ownership: the bulkhead would benefit from repairs to the footwells and top corner, the wheel bearings are due for replacement, and there is a minor fuel leak from the top of the tank. None of these prevent the vehicle being driven and enjoyed, but they are worth factoring in as part of ongoing maintenance.

A solid and very usable 200Tdi Defender with a galvanised chassis, and desirable upgrades - ready to be enjoyed as is, with scope for further improvement.
