We recently had an extension built on our home and, having heard plenty of horror stories about building work as well as the cost investment, we were understandably nervous about the process — particularly as we were living in the house with our 3 kids throughout. But with Charlie and Richard, We needn't have worried. We spent time with them beforehand to make sure they understand what we hoped to achieve from the project which really made a difference to the final product. From start to finish, the team were professional, considerate, and genuinely a pleasure to have around. They took real care to minimise the disruption to our daily lives, keeping the site clean and tidy at the end of every working day. Dust sheets, careful site management, and a tidy workspace made a huge difference to our comfort during what could have been a very stressful period. What really stood out was the practical advice we received along the way. Rather than just getting on with the job and presenting us with a fait accompli, they flagged potential issues early, offered sensible suggestions, and helped us make informed decisions without ever making us feel pressured. It was clear they had our best interests — and not just the build — in mind. Perhaps most impressively, they completed the work ahead of schedule. In our experience, this is almost unheard of in the building trade, and it made an enormous difference to us as a family trying to work around the project. We were hugely impressed with the entire process with Milford and Sons. From the first contact Charlie was so helpful . He understood what we wanted and designed around our expectations and budget . Richard and Matthew were both lovely . Easy to be around hard working and hugely skilled . The fence had to be negotiated around a very special tree which proved no issue to them . Attention to detail pride in their work were obvious . They also made us laugh which is always a great additional bonus.
