Description
I dabble in auctions. I low-ball the bids and sometimes get lucky-too lucky. Sometimes I win more than I need. I am a oenophile but do not intend to bathe in it
On average, I pay about 50% of the best retail price I could find on retail sites; many of the bottles are not even available in the UK
Recently I won a surfeit of bottles. They are mostly mid-to-high end French (esp Rhône and Bordeaux), most of which have been aged 20+ years. There are also Australian, Argentine, Spanish, and Portuguese offerings. I even have a few bottles of dessert nectar
In addition, I have some Champagne, port, vodka, liqueurs, and vermouth. Some of the items are collectors' items, old bottlings, gift sets, etc
I wanted some great-priced nectar to drink. Now I have enough and am happy to pass on the bargains at cost just to ease my load (and calm my wife)

Prices are fixed at whatever I paid + a delivery contribution. Most are £8-£30/bottle but normally cost 2x that much retail, if one can find the vintage. Anyway, there is a wide range of quality and prices
