Kawasaki, Z550 Ltd, 1983 (Historical (Registered) Vehicle)

Description

I've owned this bike for 25+ years and decided to pull it out of the corner of the garage where it's been for at least 10 of those years and get it fit for the road once again.

It was MOT'd on 05th August 2026, despite it now being DVLA registered as a historical vehicle (43 years old), so now road tax and MOT exempt.

I have changed the oil and filer, the spark plugs, stripped and cleaned the carburetors, fitted two new (Pirelli) tyres, a new battery, fork seal, new mirrors, rear reflector and a front brake light switch.

The bike runs well on idle and when revving up, but a wee bit lumpy / hesitant when riding; carburetors probably need balanced (I don't have the vacuum gauges required to do that), but the engine and all other mechanicals (and electrics / electronics) are good.

Comes with a spare (The original) fuel tank, Haynes workshop manual and the original air filter box.

Registration number alone is estimated to be worth £300 - £500; from an online auction site.

I'm just looking to get some garage space back (Two other bikes in there) and i'm not likely to ride this bike much now, although i did enjoy the few rides i have had on it recently.
