Description
What is the Kawasaki GPZ500S? Have a look at the review from MCM:
Long in the tooth but surprisingly fast and easy to live with, the Kawasaki GPZ500S’s a true and reliable all-rounder. The Kawasaki GPZ500S is a prime candidate for a “first big bike” and one with the performance and handling to tempt you to hold on to it after rivals have lost their (underpowered) appeal.
This bike is latest version before end of production with double front and single rear disc brakes, it has 16537 miles on the clock, just passed a new MOT with no advisories and it's valid until 09.07.2026, service book full of service records, really loads of paperwork to support mileage and service records (tyres, brake pads, refurbished callipers, renewed brake fluid, new sprockets front/rear and DID gold chain, carb cleaning and balancing, and many other things), owner manual, Haynes manual, two keys and was owned for many years by aerospace engineer (there is a clear evidence- you can see in the pictures some colour markers on safety crucial parts so you can notice instantly if it goes off the alignment! Genius!). Later it was taken over by his friend a retired engineer who is now bike shop manager with intention to show the young generation of engineers how to look after the bikes properly! And then it was my turn and by coincidence I'm automotive engineer. Just serviced again for new season with 4 litres of Valvoline full synthetic engine oil (don't worry I know it's says 3 litres in the manual but I'm not happy with the fact that after the oil drained, engine still holds about 0,5 litre of old and dirty oil in various compartments so to push it out I pour 1 litre of fresh oil in the engine and this does the trick by replacing the dirty oil and pushing it out completely! Only when this mixture of oil gets out I put back drainage bolt, new oil filter and pour required 3 litres of new engine oil! And because bike shops don't do that you have to do it yourself), cleaned air filter, lubricated chain and reapplied fresh anti-corrosion coat (ACF50). The bike is technically sound and only cosmetic imperfections can be found related to its age (bike is still fully standard) and not affecting performance in any way.
Also there is optional extras like brand new longer touring screen (you can see how much longer it is in last two pics) if you interested.
