Cloud Architect – Azure & GCP | Banking | Cloud Transformation | Contract
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Cloud Architect to join a major cloud transformation and application modernisation programme within a leading financial services organisation.
This is a hands-on architecture role, working across Azure and GCP to modernise legacy applications, support core banking transformation and drive adoption of secure, cloud-native technologies.
Rate: Inside IR35
Duration: Initial 6 months
Location: Hybrid in Central London
What you’ll be doing:
* Define and deliver Azure & GCP cloud architectures and reference patterns
* Lead application migration and modernisation across rehost, re-platform, refactor and cloud-native approaches
* Drive Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, Kubernetes and cloud-native adoption
* Define standards around networking, IAM, security, monitoring, resilience and DR
* Provide technical leadership and present architecture decisions to senior stakeholders and governance forums
Key experience:
* Senior Architect within technology, with 5+ years in Cloud Architecture
* Strong hands-on experience across Microsoft Azure and GCP
* (Ideally) Azure: Landing Zones, AKS, App Services, Functions, API Management xjnqpsq and Networking
* (Ideally) GCP: GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, VPC & IAM
* Strong Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD and cloud-native architecture experience
* Proven experience delivering transformation programmes within banking or regulated financial services
* Understanding of **operational resilience, cloud security,
