Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Packhouse Operative to join our clients operation in Keynsham Bristol.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will play a key role demonstrating hands on food handling with leadership responsibilities guiding a team of food operators to maintain high standards in food safety, efficiency and service.

Responsibilities:

Lead the team by example, enforce all food handling procedures to be conducted responsibly under health and safety regulations, and food safety and hygiene standards.Demonstrate a positive food safety culture and follow company standards.Ensure daily production plan is followed, assign daily tasks to team members, balancing workloads, adjusting assignments as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity, and support the team when required being able to perform weighing, mixing, filling, sealing, or labelling.Start and end a production cycle conducting routine checks to maintain quality, consistency, and appearance across all finished goods handled and to ensure products meet specified weights, recipes, and packaging integrity.Maintain accurate records of traceability, production outputs, quality checks, and any issues encountered during shifts.Ensure all equipment is properly set up, used, cleaned, and maintained. Report any equipment issues to managerial team promptlyEnsure recipes are followed and runs of weighed ingredients are prepared ahead blending when leading processing team.Responsible of the Critical Control Point on the line: Set up, operate, and perform relevant checks on metal detector to ensure all pouches produced are metal detected prior release when leading packing team.Handle on hold or rejected products carefully, following all protocols to prevent errors and ensure compliance. Report any nonconformities to managerial or technical team.Provide practical induction and ongoing support on food safety practises, cleaning, and food handling procedures, ensuring team members understand their tasks and responsibilities. Ensure that all work carried out meets the requirements of- the customer.the legal requirements.Health and Safety regulationsfood safety and quality standards (e.g. BRCGS).operational procedures, internal policies, and schedules. Responsible for ensuring adherence to and promotion of brand integrity within the scope of the role and across relevant operations. Knowledge/Experience required:
