Hours: 5:00 pm - 1:00 am

Pay: 13.45 per hour (weekdays until 8:00 pm) / 17.91 per hour (8:00 pm - 1:00 am)

Shifts: Any 5 days from 7, including weekends

Contract: Temporary

The Role

Manpower is recruiting a Cook to join a busy public?sector catering retail unit in Heath, Cardiff. You will prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes, including regenerating pre-prepared meals and producing fresh homemade-style meals such as curries and lasagnes. The role requires maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service while working as part of a wider catering team.

Main Responsibilities

Preparing fresh meals including curries, lasagnes, and other homemade-style dishesCooking and regenerating menu items such as pizzas and chicken goujonsSupporting daily kitchen operations in the main restaurant and canteenMaintaining food quality and ensuring meals are served within agreed timescalesFollowing food hygiene and safety procedures at all timesManaging stock rotation and keeping the kitchen clean and organisedDelivering excellent customer service to staff and visitors

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchenExperience preparing fresh, homemade mealsValid Level 2 Food Hygiene CertificateStrong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygieneReliable, flexible, and able to work evening and weekend shiftsThis role is subject to satisfactory references. We are looking for someone who can start within one week.
