We're recruiting for a Chef / Cook to join a well-established organisation in Leicestershire. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team where you'll take responsibility for preparing and cooking a varied range of meals, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and presentation are maintained.

As a Chef / Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing meals throughout the day, working from menus and catering for a range of dietary requirements. You'll play an important role in ensuring meals are nutritious, well presented and prepared to a consistently high standard.

What you'll be doing as a Chef / Cook:

Preparing and cooking a varied range of fresh, nutritious mealsCreating menus and recipes while ensuring meals are prepared to a high standard and to dietary needsCatering for individual dietary requirements, allergies and specific preferencesPreparing meals, snacks and beverages as requiredEnsuring food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperatureMaintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safetyMonitoring food stock levels and helping with ordering and stock rotationWorking closely with colleagues to ensure meals are prepared and served on timeCompleting relevant food safety and kitchen recordsFollowing all health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures

What we're looking for in a Chef / Cook:

Previous experience working as a Chef, Cook or within a school, catering or similar food service environmentExperience preparing meals in volume and working to set menusGood understanding of food hygiene, allergen management and dietary requirementsExperience working in a busy kitchen where organisation and timing are importantA passion for preparing fresh, nutritious and enjoyable foodGood organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy kitchenReliable, practical and able to work well as part of a teamA friendly and professional approach with a genuine pride in your workRelevant food hygiene qualifications would be advantageous
