Cafe Staff

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Our Client’s Café is a creative, community-led venue in Camden, supporting artists and audiences through theatre, food and connection. They are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Café staff to join their vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest services, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hospitality skills within a creative setting.

They’re currently offering two types of contracts:

24 hrs - Your working hours will be Monday-Thursday 9:30am-3:30pm

18 hrs - Your working hours will be Friday-Sunday 9:30am-3:30pm

During August the working times will differ due to the Camden Fringe festival.

Duties:

Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction through friendly servicePrepare and serve a variety of food and beverages in accordance with health and safety standardsMaintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and bar equipment throughout shiftsUpsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunitiesHandle transactions accurately using point-of-sale systemsRestock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations during service hoursProvide excellent guest services by addressing enquiries promptly and courteouslyFollow food safety procedures diligently to ensure compliance with hygiene regulationsAssist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting kitchen staff when necessaryManage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service deliver

Experience:

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings and barista skills are essentialKnowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques is advantageousExperience in food preparation or culinary roles will be considered a plusFamiliarity with kitchen operations or previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not mandatoryStrong organisational skills, time management, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are highly valuedA friendly attitude with excellent guest service skills is crucial for success in this role
