VINTAGE CHINESE DIETIES/DEMIGODS -THE SANXING 3 STARS FIGURINES - IDEAL FOR CHINESE NEW YEAR

Description

Each figurine is beautifully sculpted, with amazingly vivid colouring. They range in hight from approximately 15.5cm to 17.75cm and are approximately 4.5cm in diameter/width.
Each is a different style of clothing and pose, representing different deities/demigods from Chinese folklore

They are in their original boxing, complete with original lining material, made of a kind of satin effect material. The ribbon to hold then place is also original.

The box itself is 26cm long, 5.8cm high and 18.7cm wide. made of a strong card/fiber board. it has been covered in a patterned material which gives a clue to being made in 1940's/1950's. The box itself shows signs of its age, with quite severe separation on the front corners and fraying along the front wedge of the top in particular.

The lid is approximately 1/3rd of the overall hight of the box, with a small closure made from material in the form of a loop clasp attached to a cream/off white sliver of very hard plastic, possibly Bakelite, in the style of a piece bone.

UNSURE OF EXACT MANUFACTURER OR COUNTRY IN WHICH THESE WERE MADE, MY LATE AUNT TRAVELLED A LOT AND NEVER MENTIONED WHERE SHE BOUGHT THEM.
