Description
This 1:76 mm scale LIMITED EDITION model of a Crossley DD42/3, with Crossley bodywork, is regarded as being one of the most detailed and accurate British PSV replicas ever to be produced.
The fleet ordered by Manchester’s Transport Department were built locally, just over the border in Heaton Chapel, Stockport and provided much needed work for local people in the post-war period.
They were constructed to the width of seven feet six inches rather than that of the growing popularity of eight feet in the industry and, as such, were distinguished by their grey painted roofs.
This model is on a LIMITED STOP service from Piccadilly to Gatley and the actual vehicles used on Route 1 would be superseded by a fleet of Leyland engined buses in the mid-1950s. A model of a Leyland vehicle on the same route is advertised alongside this one.
The Crossley model has never been removed from the display case which is still in its unopened box. The photographs are of a specimen.
Whilst the model retails at £26 plus postage on other sites, this one is available for just £20 with RECEIPTED postage and packaging of £3.69
