Description
A ceramic tankard to commemorate 400 years of royal protection for the island of Sark from the reign of Queen Elizabeth 1 to Queen Elizabeth 11 - 1556 t0 1965. One side has a transfer printed image of an ancient commemorative seal and the other the text:
'1565 Queen Elizabeth 1 granted the Charter by which Sark has prospered for 400 years and preserved the heritage of our Norman forebears so we humbly offer anew our loyal allegiance to our Liege Lord Queen Elizabeth 11 in gratitude for her sovereign protection 1965'
There is a silvered handle and rim. Made by Britannia Designs, Dartmouth and numbered 2399. In good vintage condition with some age-related wear
