AIWA AD-F460 HiFi Tape Cassette Deck.

Description

This AIWA tape deck is in used cosmetic condition as can be seen in the photos. There are some scratches and marks from regular use, which I have tried to show as best I can in the pictures.

I used it to play some old tapes into my computer (via the computer’s input connector) but I no longer have a use for it so it is now for sale. The playback works fine and sounds good – the dolby B and C noise reduction functions are working as expected, the counter works fine, the main phono outputs on the rear and the headphone output on the front work as does the cue forwards and backwards (holding the FF or REW button while in play mode allows you to hear the content on the tape whizzing by at high speed to see where the breaks between songs are). I have not used any other playback functions.

I have briefly tested the recording function, but only used a couple of my old tapes which are over 30 years old. On one tape the recording I made sounded muddy in some places and ok in other places, but the second tape I tried to record onto sounded fine when recording onto it. I expect it is down to the tape itself, but cannot guarantee that this machine will record perfectly on any tape as that was not my experience when I tried it recently.
