3 x Ward Manager – Mental Health (Acute / CAMHS / Private Services)

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Salary: 45,000 – 55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent Full–Time

A leading independent mental health hospital in Chelmsford is seeking experienced and motivated Ward Managers (RMN/RNLD) to join their expanding team across Acute, CAMHS, and Private inpatient services.

This is an exciting opportunity for strong clinical leaders to manage dynamic inpatient wards within a supportive and modern environment. The successful applicants will play a key role in leading nursing teams, ensuring safe and effective delivery of care, and maintaining compliance with all professional and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide visible clinical and operational leadership to the ward team.

Deliver high–quality, person–centred care in accordance with CQC and NMC standards.

Supervise, mentor, and support nursing and care staff, promoting a positive culture.

Manage rotas, staffing, and resources efficiently to ensure safe service delivery.

Lead on audits, incident reviews, and continuous service improvement.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Contribute to clinical governance, safeguarding, and quality assurance initiatives.

Essential Requirements

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) with valid NMC registration.

Demonstrated experience in a senior nursing or ward management position.

Strong background in acute, CAMHS, or secure/forensic settings.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem–solving skills.

Sound understanding of risk management, clinical governance, and regulatory frameworks.
