Description
Support Worker
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives? Our client, a dedicated organisation in Oxford, is hiring for a Support Worker to join a compassionate team committed to transforming lives and creating lasting change for individuals experiencing homelessness.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental health, physical health, and substance misuse issues.
Assessing and managing risks to ensure safety and well–being.
Delivering high–quality care, support, and housing management in line with organisational policies.
Working collaboratively with partner agencies to provide holistic, tailored support.
Developing and implementing client–centred support and risk management plans, aiming for suitable move–on options within six weeks.
Building positive relationships, motivating progress, and encouraging recovery.
Managing challenging situations effectively, ensuring safety, and reporting safeguarding concerns.
Maintaining accurate case records, updating IT systems, and producing reports.
Participating in rota shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to ensure continuous support.
Assisting clients with housing benefit claims and tenancy–related administrative tasks.
What you'll bring:
Understanding of the needs of homeless people and experience working face–to–face support.
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
Knowledge of trauma–informed care and move–on options.
Excellent communication skills, adaptable to diverse clients and stakeholders.
Strong decision–making skills and the ability to respond effectively in challenging situations.
IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive attitude.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in health, social care, or related fields are desirable.
