Senior Research and Development Chemist
Annual Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Job Type: Full-time, Monday - FridayJoin a leading independent company with a rich history specialising in manufacturing organic intermediates for various industries including Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Food & Beverage. We are currently seeking a Senior Research and Development Chemist to join our team in West Bromwich.
Day-to-day of the role:
Conduct research and development on allocated projects using department resources efficiently and safely, under the supervision of the Process Research Manager and fellow Senior Research Chemists.
Utilise the library for process development, improvement, and problem-solving, ensuring full documentation for smooth technology transfer.
Operate and develop analytical methods, interpret results and develop processes for large-scale manufacturing.
Assist in regulatory assessments and work on projects in both the laboratory and pilot plant settings.
Design experimental laboratory work relevant to large-scale and full-scale manufacturing.
Keep accurate experimental records to ISO 9001 standards and produce detailed technical reports.
Develop analytical methods in conjunction with the Senior Research Analyst and be conversant with the interpretation and application of results.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of a degree in Chemistry.
Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ISIS Draw.
3-5 years R&D and scale up experience in a relevant scientific industry
Excellent communication skills, including detailed report writing.
Strong team player with knowledge of company and departmental procedures.
Familiarity with relevant legislation and safety, quality, and environmental standards such as COSHH, COMAH, IPC, ISO14001.
