School Caretaker

Description

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a School Caretaker to join an Academy based in Easingwold on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Opening and closing the school site, ensuring buildings are safe, secure and ready for use.

*

Carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and decorating tasks.

*

Ensuring the site is clean, tidy and hazard-free at all times.

*

Maintaining grounds, including paths, play areas, drains, and external spaces.

*

Supporting health and safety compliance — reporting hazards, completing checks and following procedures.

*

Managing external contractors and deliveries, and overseeing lettings as required.

*

Setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities.

*

Ensuring proper storage and disposal of waste and recycling.

*

Monitoring heating, lighting, and water systems to ensure they operate efficiently.

*

Responding quickly to emergencies, maintenance issues, or health and safety concerns.

Experienced in general building maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
