Job Role

A rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people.

A children's residential home in Stalybridge is looking to recruit caring, reliable and dedicated individuals to help create a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for young people.

Previous experience in residential childcare isn't essential. What's most important is having the right values, emotional resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Full training and development opportunities will be provided.

Responsibilities

You'll be part of a close–knit team helping children feel safe, supported and optimistic about their future. Your responsibilities will include:

Building positive relationships based on trust, consistency and respect.

Supporting daily routines, including school runs, meals, activities and emotional support.

Providing reassurance and being a reliable adult during challenging moments.

Maintaining accurate records of key events and each child's progress.

Promoting education, wellbeing, independence, life skills and positive experiences.

Helping to create a warm, welcoming environment where children feel at home.

Requirements

This opportunity could suit someone who:

Has experience in care, education, youth work or a similar setting, although this isn't essential.

Has strong interpersonal skills, emotional resilience and a natural ability to build relationships.

Can remain calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Is willing to learn about supporting children who have experienced trauma and adversity.

Is comfortable working independently when required and following structured routines.

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a car (essential).

A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or Level 4 qualification in Children, Young People and Families is desirable but not essential. Those without the relevant qualification will be supported through a fully funded Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner qualification.
