Job Title: Outreach Worker

Type: Temporary - Initial 8-month assignment, with potential for extension

Working Arrangement: Office-based

Pay Rate: £21.23 per hour (PAYE)

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated Outreach Worker for a full-time, office-based role. The position operates on a temporary basis and involves delivering services both from the office and directly at client locations.

Key Requirements:

Valid business car insurance

Active DV clearance

Consistent access to a personal vehicleKey Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of rough sleepers and single homeless applicants, ensuring support needs are met and clients can sustain tenancies.

Collaborate with teams like RAMPH to assess needs and guide clients to appropriate services.

Act as the main contact for allocated individuals, maintaining records and reporting data.

Create tailored action plans with coordinators to secure suitable housing and support.

Liaise with welfare departments to ensure benefit access.

Support homelessness applications through close coordination with relevant teams.About you:

Understanding of key homelessness legislation and housing-related benefits

Experience working directly with people in high-stress situations

Awareness of diverse needs across Harrow's communities

Clear, calm communication and strong interpersonal skills

Effective negotiation skills for engaging support agencies

Creative approach to housing solutions
