Optical Glazing Technician – Role

Working within a modern optical glazing laboratory environmentPart of a large, experienced team with opportunities to learn from othersTracing frames and transferring shapes ready for glazingBlocking lenses to customer requirementsEdging lenses using manual edgersAssembly of metal, plastic, supra and rimless framesWorking on bespoke and specialist frame ordersChecking completed orders to ISO standards and customer requirementsVerifying lenses using optical equipmentPrioritising orders based on delivery timescalesWorking closely with different departments across the labMaintaining excellent standards of quality and accuracySupporting colleagues within the wider glazing teamWorking towards department targets and KPIsOptical Glazing Technician – Requirements

Previous experience working within an optical glazing laboratoryExperience with lens edging and glazing processesGood understanding of optical lensesConfident using a manual focimeter including marking up lensesGood knowledge of frame tracingExcellent attention to detailAble to work accurately with prescriptions and order informationHighly organised with the ability to prioritise workloadAble to work well as part of a teamMotivated to develop and progress within a growing businessOptical Glazing Technician – Details
