An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join a reputable and well–established optical retailer known for delivering professional eye care and stylish eyewear solutions in a welcoming, customer–centric setting.

As an Optical Assistant, you will be supporting both clinical and retail operations to deliver outstanding patient care and ensure smooth day–to–day practice functions. This role can be full–time or part–time offering a salary range of GBP25,000 – GBP28,000 and benefits.

You will be responsible for:

Assisting clinicians during eye examinations by preparing patients and outlining proceduresCarrying out essential pre–screening checks such as pressure readings and auto–refractionManaging patient bookings, maintaining accurate records, and updating practice systemsEnsuring frame displays are well–presented and stock levels maintainedProcessing spectacle and lens orders with precision and attention to prescription detailsOffering guidance to patients on frame choices and lens optionsContributing to the smooth running of the practice by collaborating effectively with colleagues

What we are looking for:

Previously worked as an Optical Assistant, Dispensing Assistant, Optical Advisor, Optician, Optical Consultant or in a similar roleAt least 2 years of experience working in a UK optical settingSolid understanding of GOS/NHS processes within an optical environmentStrong product knowledge, particularly around frame selection and fitting adjustmentsAbility to dispense confidently to a competent standard.
