Are you a dedicated Ophthalmic Nurse with experience in the clinical setting or a passion for furthering your career in ophthalmology? Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Nurse to join their dynamic team! If you are experienced in ophthalmic nursing and have scrub experience, or if you are eager to be trained in scrub, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:

In this vital role, you will be providing exceptional patient care across a range of ophthalmic procedures, working alongside a supportive team in a modern, patient–centred environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with surgical procedures, providing pre– and post–operative care, and ensuring that patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment journey.

As part of our commitment to professional development, we offer the opportunity to receive training in scrub nursing if you don't already have experience in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in a variety of ophthalmic surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.

Provide pre–operative and post–operative care to patients.

Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals.

Ensure effective sterilisation of instruments and a sterile field during surgical procedures.

Provide emotional support and information to patients, guiding them through their treatment and recovery process.

Maintain accurate and up–to–date patient records.

Be an advocate for patient safety and high–quality care at all stages of the surgical process.

Requirements:

Ophthalmic nursing experience is essential.

Previous scrub experience in a theatre environment is desirable, though training will be provided for the right candidate.

Valid NMC registration.

Excellent communication skills with a patient–focused approach.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of care.

What We Offer:

Competitive salary: 40,000 to 48,000, based on experience.

Full–time, 4–day working week for an excellent work–life balance.

A supportive and collaborative working environment.

Ongoing training and professional development opportunities, including scrub training if required.

Generous employee benefits package.

If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to grow within a leading ophthalmic care provider, this could be the perfect fit for you!
