We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Holme House, working as a Learning and Support Worker. This position is for an initial 6–month maternity cover contract, working on a part–time basis for 22.2 hours per week . There is also potential to extend, pending review.

Site Information

HMP Holme House located in Stockton–on–Tees, is a Category C men's prison. The team's aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Hidden Difficulties Level 2 or equivalent (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe)To hold Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframeTo be commited to the achievement of performance targetsTo complete accurate and timely reportingTo demonstrate attributes of positive team working at all timesTo have experience of conducting assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups (desirable)To have experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities (desirable)To have experience of successful working in an effective multi–disciplinary team (desirable)
