Housing Register, Allocations and Temporary Accommodation Assistant Location: Hillingdon Council (Hybrid/On-site as required)? Contract Length: 3+ months Rate: GBP22 per hour (umbrella) Start Date: ASAP

About the RoleHillingdon Council is seeking an experienced Housing professional to join our busy Housing Needs team. You'll provide vital support with managing the housing register, property allocations, and temporary accommodation placements. This is a fast-moving role where your work will make a direct difference to residents in need of housing support.

Key Responsibilities

Process and assess applications for the housing register in line with Council policy and housing legislation.

Determine eligibility and housing need, keeping records up to date.

Coordinate property allocations and liaise with applicants, landlords, and colleagues.

Support the day-to-day management of temporary accommodation placements.

Respond promptly and professionally to public and partner agency enquiries.

Maintain accurate case notes and system records.

About You

Previous experience in a local authority housing service, particularly in allocations and temporary accommodation.

Sound understanding of housing legislation, homelessness duties, and allocations policy.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Excellent communication skills and confident use of housing management IT systems.
