Senior Leadership Term–time only Maidenhead

Overview

I am currently recruiting for a Head of Therapies to work with my client in Maidenhead.

This is a senior leadership position within a specialist SEN school, ideal for an experienced therapist looking to step into or continue in a strategic leadership role.

You will lead a large, multidisciplinary therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Art Therapists and Therapy Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high–quality, evidence–based therapeutic services across the school.

The school adopts an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) approach to support students and places strong emphasis on a collaborative, child–centred model of care.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping the school's strategic direction, developing therapy provision, and ensuring alignment with wider educational and clinical priorities.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the therapy service across the school in line with strategic goalsProvide leadership and line management to the therapy team, including appraisals and mentorshipWork as part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive school–wide development and policy implementationOversee universal, targeted, and individualised therapy provisionEnsure all therapeutic practices meet legal, ethical, and professional standardsMonitor service impact through data and use insights to inform future planningSupport staff training and promote a collaborative, multidisciplinary approachManage therapy–related concerns from parents and contribute to strong home–school partnershipsMaintain high standards of quality assurance across all therapeutic inputContribute to budget management and resource planning for therapiesRequirementsQualified therapist (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, or other AHP)Significant post–qualification experience within an SEN or school settingPrevious leadership or management experience within a therapy teamHCPC registeredStrong understanding of multidisciplinary working and therapeutic service deliveryExperience working within or alongside ABA frameworks is desirableClear DBS (or willingness to obtain one)What's on offer
