Description

Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (FY area)

Salary: .64 per day (Competitive Weekly Pay)

Contract: Full–Time, Temp–to–Perm

Start Date: ASAP / April 2026

Role Overview

Are you a dedicated support professional with a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning? We are looking for an EHCP Support Worker to join our secondary school team in Blackpool.

This is a specialised role focused on the 1:1 delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). You will be the primary support for a student with complex SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, ensuring they have the stability and guidance required to succeed in a mainstream setting.

Key Responsibilities

Individualised Support: Deliver 1:1 interventions as prescribed by the student's EHCP targets.

Pastoral Care: Act as a key mentor, helping the student navigate social transitions and manage emotional triggers.

Classroom Integration: Support the student within the classroom, adapting learning materials to make the curriculum accessible.

Reporting & Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external agencies to monitor progress and provide feedback for annual EHCP reviews.

De–escalation: Use trauma–informed strategies to manage challenging moments with a calm, professional approach.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Previous experience working with EHCPs in a secondary school, PRU, or residential care setting.

Expertise: A strong understanding of SEMH, Autism (ASD), or ADHD.

Resilience: The "Blackpool Grit"–the ability to stay positive and committed even on challenging days.

Communication: Ability to build strong, professional relationships with students who may find it difficult to trust adults.

Why Join Us?

Trial Days: We offer a 1–2 day paid trial to ensure the school and the student are the right fit for your skills.

Path to Permanent: These are not "day–to–day" supply roles. We are looking for long–term staff to join our permanent team.

Professional Growth: Access to local CPD training, including Team Teach, Safeguarding Level 3, and Attachment Theory.

How to Apply

If you are ready to make a tangible difference in a young person's life, please submit your CV today. Interviews and trial days are being scheduled immediately.
