Clinical Lead – Care Home
Location: Congleton, Cheshire
Salary: 50,000
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join a high–quality care home team. You will work closely with the Home Manager, nurses, and care staff to ensure the delivery of outstanding clinical care, strong governance, and a safe, person–centred environment for all residents.
This is a key leadership role where you will take responsibility for clinical standards, staff support, and continuous improvement, ensuring care consistently meets and exceeds regulatory expectations.
Key responsibilities
Lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver high–quality clinical careOversee day–to–day clinical practice within the homeEnsure care plans are accurate, person–centred, and regularly reviewedPromote best practice in nursing, dementia care, and complex needs supportSupport staff through training, mentoring, and clinical supervisionContribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality assurance systemsEnsure full compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding, and DoLS/MCA requirementsSupport infection control, medication management, and risk assessmentsWork closely with the Home Manager to drive continuous service improvementAct as a calm and effective decision–maker in clinical situations
Skills and attributes
Strong clinical background with confidence to lead a nursing/care teamPrevious senior care or leadership experience (e.g. Senior Nurse, Deputy, or Team Leader)Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressurePassion for high–quality, person–centred careStrong leadership, communication, and mentoring skillsGood working knowledge of:CQC regulationsSafeguarding proceduresDoLS / Mental Capacity ActClinical audits and governance frameworks
Qualifications
NMC Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD)Relevant post–registration clinical experienceLeadership or management experience within a care setting is desirable
