Cellular Imaging & Dynamics Mass Spectrometry Scientist Location: Stevenage, UK

Contract: 12 months (On–site minimum 3 days per week)

Pay rate: GBP26 – 28.21 p/h

About the Role

CY Partners are seeking a talented and motivated Mass Spectrometry Scientist to join a Cellular Imaging & Dynamics team at a Stevenage research site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting–edge research that supports all therapeutic areas across our R&D portfolio. Our team integrates advanced cellular imaging with next–generation proteomics and data analytics, driving innovation in drug discovery and development.

What You ll Do

As part of this dynamic team, you will:

Conduct research in single–cell and low–input proteomics, analysing individual cells, tissues, and extracellular vesicles (EVs).

Generate high–quality proteomic data to advance understanding of cellular behaviour and protein expression in different biological contexts.

Operate and manage advanced mass spectrometry instruments, including Orbitrap and TIMS TOF Ultra systems.

Perform data analysis using DIANN and Spectronaut, contributing to bioinformatics pipelines and decision–making processes.

Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to design experiments, interpret data, and support GSK s mission to understand complex disease mechanisms.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.

Proven hands–on experience with mass spectrometry, particularly Orbitrap and/or TIMS TOF Ultra systems.

Practical understanding of proteomics workflows (sample prep, instrument operation, and troubleshooting).

Experience analysing complex datasets; proficiency with DIANN or Spectronaut is highly desirable.

Excellent problem–solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
